Official goodwill visit: SAC Chairman left for Russian Federation

At the invitation of the President of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, leading a high-level Myanmar delegation, departed from Nay Pyi Taw Military Airport on a special flight for an official goodwill visit on March 3.

The high-level Myanmar delegation, led by the Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister, was seen off by the Council Vice-Chairman and Deputy Prime Minister, Vice Senior General Soe Win, the Secretary of the Council, Council members, Union Ministers, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), the Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, and officials from the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Myanmar and the Military Attaché office at the airport.

Accompanying the Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister on the trip were the Council Joint Secretary, General Ye Win Oo, Council members General Nyo Saw and General Moe Aung, Union Ministers U Than Swe, Dr. Kan Zaw, U Ko Ko Lwin, Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, and the Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, as well as senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Deputy Ministers, and military and civilian officials.

During the visit, the delegation will meet and hold discussions with the President of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and the Speakers of Federal Assembly, among other senior Russian government officials. The goodwill visit will focus on strengthening friendship, economic cooperation, security, and strategic partnerships across various sectors between the two governments and peoples.

This year marks the 77th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Myanmar. The two countries have seen progress in high-level exchanges and multifaceted cooperation and will continue to enhance their engagement and collaboration in the future.
