Public Health Announcement: Advise for prevention Hepatitis A infection

The Public Health Department under the Ministry of Health made a public announcement on prevention measures for Hepatitis A, which is an infectious and epidemic disease that can affect any age group, especially children.

It can be spread through the consumption of contaminated food and close contact with infected individuals. The symptoms include fever, fatigue, loss of appetite, vomiting, stomach pain, yellowing of the skin and eyes, dark urine, pale-colored feces, and pain in the bones and joints.

If severed, it can lead to the damage of liver, threatening the life. Those with Hepatitis B or C and HIV virus may suffer severely. The public is advised to be cautious of personal hygiene such as washing hands, drinking boiled water or FDA certified purified water, avoiding raw foods. They are also urged to contact the nearby health departments if they experience any symptoms.
