Tour in Nyaung Shwe: Efforts for tourism development in Inle area

Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Phyo Zaw Soe visited Red Mountain Vineyard and Winery in Nyaung Shwe Township of Shan State on Sunday.

They observed the production process of white and red wines, using various grape species, and its storage system. The Deputy Minister encouraged the implementation of the vineyard and winery to be a destination for Agri and Farming Tourism where visitors can tour the grape plantations while observing the wine production process and tasting variety of wines.

Nyaung Shwe usually sees a number of tourists, visiting the Inle Lake destinations. In order to provide convenient access on tour destinations, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has set up an Information Counter, assisting the visitors with useful information. During his visit, the Deputy Minister instructed the staff to be well-equipped with the regional knowledge, language proficiency and expertise in changing technologies.

Visitors to Inle Lake use to take motorboat from the jetty in Nyaung Shwe which is operated by the Township Development Affairs Committee. At present, plans are underway to develop new destination at Inle Waterfall.
