Eliminating Online Frauds: 208 illegal immigrants detained on March 1

Myanmar has been escalating operations to combat illegal online gambling, online fraud and illegal activities in the Shwe Kokko, Mae Htaw Tha Lay and KK Park areas of Myawaddy, Kayin State.

As of March 1, authorities detained an additional 208 foreign nationals, bringing the total to 3,333 illegal entrants between January 30 and March 1. Of those detained, 757 have been systematically repatriated through Thailand in compliance with international legal procedures while 2,576 are awaiting transfer and remain in proper detention.
