Academic Matter: MOE Union Minister meets with academic personnel

Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe held a meeting with university rectors, principals of education degree colleges and regional and state education officers via video conferencing on Friday.

In his opening remarks, the Union Minister said that students must take the 2024-2025 university entrance examination peacefully and successfully. If there are students who have difficulties in their area and want to take the examination at the examination center in their current location, they can register and take the examination until the evening of the day before the matriculation exam.

He stressed that the examination must be conducted systematically in accordance with the procedures and rules. He called on the officials and teachers to work together to successfully conduct the matriculation examination.

After the completion of the basic examinations, effective courses must be opened for students during the summer vacation. He added that summer refresher courses should be held to improve the quality of education of university teachers in the higher education sector.

He stressed the need to maintain the personal and professional behavior in an academic environment and work together to preserve national characteristics and nurture educated people with full potential.

The meeting discussed measures for development of database system for listing research papers of the universities and ensuring consistency, accuracy, and systematization in the submission of statistical data, as well as the works to be done in the higher education and basic education sectors.
