





On, 28th February, the newly launched up and down Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay-Nay Pyi Taw modern DEMU trains were unveiled at Mandalay Station No. (1).
Chief Minister U Myo Aung and concerned officials attended the inauguration ceremony.
At the guest hall of Myanma Railway, the Chief Minister heard the reports on efforts to produce modern passenger coaches, upgrade railway lines and improve stations for passenger comfort and coordinated the needs. He then warmly greeted the passengers while distributing refreshments.
The newly introduced Mandalay-Nay Pyi Taw train accommodates 330 passengers across six coaches, while the upgraded Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw service carries 312 passengers in six coaches. The Mandalay-Nay Pyi Taw train departs Mandalay at 6:00 a.m., and arrived in Nay Pyi Taw at 11:00 a.m. The return trip from Nay Pyi Taw to Yangon departs at 12:00 p.m. and arrives at 5:30 p.m.
Along the route, it will stop at Bago, Phyu, Taungoo, Nay Pyi Taw and Tharzi stations and completed the journey in 11 hours. The modern DEMU train covers the Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw route in just 5.5 hours. Tickets will be available for purchase three days in advance.
