






For the development of Puta-O area in Kachin State, along with the food sufficiency in the area, the state government is making efforts for expansion of agriculture and livestock breeding sector with the budget allocation of the State Economic Promotion Fund.
On 27th February, Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nam accompanied by concerned officials made field inspection on the completion of Nat Kan Ton spillway which is being constructed with the allotted budget of the state government fund in 2024-2025 fiscal year. Upon completion, it can benefit for about 320 acres monsoon paddy fields in Lone Sut ward.
And, the Chief Minister and party inspected the cultivation of rapeseed at no. 30 field, coordinated the needs and provided cash rewards to the farmer. They then visited the fish farm which is operating with the 1 million kyats allotted budget of the State Economic Promotion Fund, inspected the working processes of the farm and discussed about the distribution of fishery products to the markets.
The Chief Minister coordinated the needs for establishing fishery camp and expansion of the farm. At the piggery farm in Pu Taung Village, the Chief Minister and party oversaw the farm operation, cultivating of fruits and vegetables plants and fish farm. During the visit, necessary medicines for livestock breeding, assisted from Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department were provided.
Later, the Chief Minister and party met with the local farmers at the Pu Taung Monastery to support necessaries for the development of agriculture and livestock breeding sector meeting targeted yield. They then met with local villagers and heard reports on construction of village road and retaining wall at Pu Taung Creek.
The Chief Minister coordinated the requirement and provided over 1.7 million kyats fund to the farmers from Pu Taung and Ma Kat Hmone villages for cultivation of rapeseed.
