







The Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, accompanied by the responsible officials, visited the four-story male/female dormitory at the Thuwunna Youth Training Camp in Yangon on Monday.
He instructed officials to pre-arrange accommodations, meals, and other necessary arrangements for athletes participating in the Regions and States competitions held in Yangon to ensure their convenience. He also observed and encouraged athletes training at the Myanmar Boxing Federation’s winter training course, providing instructions on their needs.
Subsequently, the Union Minister inspected preparations for the training facility of the Myanmar Sepak Takraw Federation, observed the training of selected athletes from the Myanmar Taekwondo Federation, and reviewed athletes training on indoor trainers for the Cycling E-Sport National Championship 2025.
He also inspected the turf preparation of the football field at the Padetha Sports Ground in South Okkalapa Township, as well as the construction of sports fields, gymnasiums, and the Yangon Region Sports and Physical Education Department office, providing guidance on necessary requirements.
Continuing his visit, the Union Minister met with staff from the Yangon Region at the Padetha Sports Hall. The Director-General of the Sports and Physical Education Department addressed and discussed the issues raised, after which the Union Minister delivered an opening speech.
The Union Minister and party then proceeded to the Thuwunna Youth Training Camp (YTC) football field, where they were welcomed by the President of the Myanmar Football Federation, U Zaw Zaw, along with vice-presidents, officials, and athletes. They inspected the football field and provided instructions to ensure success at the upcoming 33rd Southeast Asian Games. They also observed and encouraged futsal training at the futsal gymnasium, inspected the artificial turf futsal training field being constructed with FIFA assistance—including the Outdoor Artificial Turf Futsal Training Fields (1) and (2)—and reviewed the Football Academy (Yangon), offering guidance on necessary matters.
Next, at the Myanmar Football Federation office, the Union Minister met with the federation’s executive committee. The President of the Myanmar Football Federation, the Chairman of the Myanmar National League Committee, and the Chairman of the Futsal and Beach Football Committee presented updates on their respective sectors. Discussions were held with the Director-General of the Sports and Physical Education Department, other officials, and federation executives.
The Union Minister instructed them to prepare in advance for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games to ensure success for the men’s and women’s futsal teams and to foster the emergence of a new generation of football players.
Furthermore, the Union Minister and party visited the Myanmar Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation, the Myanmar Tennis Federation, and the Myanmar Hockey Federation, inspecting their facilities and addressing their needs. It was learned that actions were taken to fulfill the requests raised during these visits.
