






Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw, together with officials, visited Hlegu Township in Yangon Region on February 22nd to oversee the thriving summer paddy plantation in Thanutpyin Village. Utilizing the irrigated water from Nga Moe Yeik Dam, the plantation covers 148 acres.
The Deputy Minister instructed for efficient supply of irrigated water without any waste and ensuring to increase crop yields. They then proceeded to Pan Daing (1) Sluice Gate in Htantapin Township and urged officials for durability of the facility with proper drainges, and sufficient supply of irrigated water for summer paddy plantations. They then oversaw the distribution of water to the nearby plantations.
It is learnt that Yangon Region is cultivating over 250,000 acre summer paddy and more than 520,000 acre other crops so far.
