Farmers’ Forum: Efforts for development of agriculture sector

The 64th edition of Farmers’ Forum, organized by the Department of Agricultural Research Yezin, was held on 22nd February, with the attendance of member of the State Administration Council Mahn Nyein Maung.

In his speech, the SAC member highlighted the exerted efforts of the government on prosperity of the nation and local food sufficiency, and encouraged the farmers to present the difficulties encountered and to share their experiences and agricultural practices. A member of farmer development association made discussions on current work implementation of the association.

During the forum, officials from the Department of Agricultural Research clarified acceleration of oil crop production, pest and disease control and management and expansion of soy bean plantations. Upon clarification, the Director General of Department of Agricultural Research supplemented necessities.

It was followed by the screening of a video clip featuring oil crop production promotion activities. The discussion was concluded with the closing remarks of the SAC member. A total of 470 participants including agricultural experts and farmers from Nay Pyi Taw Council Area and respective regions and states attended the discussion both in person and online.
