Crackdown on Online Frauds: 111 Chinese citizens deported via Thailand

111 Chinese citizens who involved in the Telecom Fraud and criminal activities were deported on Saturday through Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge-2 in line with the existing laws and procedures. They have been recruited to engage in online fraud, online gambling and unlawful acts at Myawaddy-Shwe Kokko and KK Park area.

According to the confession of the detained Chinese citizens, most of them first traveled to neighboring countries to enter Myanmar illegally. At present, the government is intensifying efforts to expose and take action against the foreign nationals who are engaging in online scam center activities and taking control on unlawful acts as well as to extradite the trafficked foreign nationals to their respective countries promptly.
