Food Sufficiency: Efforts for development of livestock sector

Mon State is making effort for development of economy thorough the manufacturing of Agriculture and Livestock products with modern technologies.

On February 20th, Chief Minster U Aung Kyi Thein, accompanied by concerned officials, inspected the poultry farm and modern private livestock breeding business at Kyawe Chan Village in Paung Township. ‌

During the inspection tour, the Chief Minister stressed the crucial of livestock sector for food sufficiency in the country, and urged officials to make systematic monitoring on the livestock breeding businesses in accordance with the related farming zones. In order to ensure food sufficiency within Mon State, related departments and private businesses are operating fish breeding, cattle and poultry farms in respective townships, covering over 2.8 million livestock.
