Education Sector: MOE Union Minister visits academic facilities in Pathein

Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe met State, District, and Township Level Education Officers and Middle and High School Principals at No.(1) Basic Education High School in Pathein of Ayeyawady Region on Thursday. 

During the meeting, the Union Minister stressed for the students to effectively spend their summer holidays. He outlined the plans to revise the lessons, to open libraries for the students to be able to enjoy reading based on their preferences and to open training courses.

He added that collaboration must be made for all school-age children to be able to attend the schools in the coming academic year and that the teachers are responsible to teach the students to turn out as the good gerenation who excelled not only the school lessons but also equipped with good patriotism.

Currently, the final exams are being carried out and the Matriculation examinations will take place soon, the Union Minister stressed the need to implement the tasks in line with the exam rules and regulations in order to avoid any mistakes.

The Union Minister also called on the preparations for fire safety. Then, the Union Minister and party encouraged the students who are sitting for the year-end exams at the No.(1) and No. (2) Basic Education Schools. After that, the Union Minister met with the principal, teachers and students at Pathein Education Degree College.

In his speech, the Union Minister stated that as the students studying at the college are the future generations for the State to rely on, he extended hir warm welcome on behalf of the Ministry. Since they are going to become the teachers in the future, the Union Minister urged all to learn their respective subjects systematically.

The Union Minister and party later proceeded to Pathein University and met with the Rectors, Pro-Rectors, Professors, teachers and staff at the Convocation Hall. During the meeting, he discussed the measures for universities’ exam questions and inspection at the matriculation exam centers. He also urged all to make cooperative efforts for the development of the university.
