Agriculture and Livestock Breeding: Development works inspected in Myitkyina

A ceremony to provide natural fertilizer to the farmers engaging in winter crop cultivation was held at Pammati Ward in Myitkyina on February 19th.

Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan attended the ceremony, and urged farmers to strive for extended cultivation of crops for socio-economic development of local community while ensuring local food sufficiency. He also stressed to need to make cooperation with the related departments for systematic cultivation method and provisions of agricultural inputs. During the event, natural fertilizers and foliar fertilizer were provided to the farmers.

This was followed by demonstration of broadcasting fertilizer by the staff of Agriculture Department. The Chief Minister and party also oversaw the measures for proper flow of water along the Nga Lamyay Creek in order to prevent farmlands from inundation. The Chief Minister and party also inspected the livestock breeding farms in Maw Phaung VIllage, which is being operated by the State Economic Development Fund.
