Announcement: Terrorist financing through illegal natural resource extraction

Terrorist financing through the illegal extraction of state-owned natural resources will be eradicated, the authorities announced on Wednesday.

The State Constitution specifies that "The Union is the ultimate owner of all lands and all natural resources above and below the ground, above and beneath the water, and in the atmosphere." It also states that "The Union shall enact necessary laws to supervise the extraction and utilization of state-owned natural resources by economic forces." In accordance with these provisions, the necessary laws have been enacted, and the extraction of natural resources is being conducted in line with the law.

However, there have been cases of illegal extraction taking advantage of recent incidents such as terrorist attacks and armed insurgencies in certain areas of the country, along with terrorist financing. In these cases, local residents have been recruited for labor by being offered cash.

It is advised that involvement in illegal extraction constitutes an act of encouraging terrorist activities, as outlined by the Anti-Terrorism Law. Necessary actions will be taken to expose terrorist financing through illegal natural resource extraction. The public is urged to exercise caution and avoid involvement in such activities.
