Signing Letter of Agreement: MoRAC UM delivered opening speech

The signing ceremony for the Agreement on Permission to Carry Out Religious Activities between the Department of Religious Affairs under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and the Russian Orthodox Church of the Russian Federation was held at the M Gallery Hotel in Dekkhina Thiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw on February 18.

The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, Deputy Minister U Aye Tun, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Myanmar Mr. Iskander Azizov and embassy officials, Permanent Secretary and Director-Generals from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, His Eminence Sergiy Metropolitan of Singapore and South-East Asia of the Russian Orthodox Church, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Legal Affairs, as well as other relevant officials.

First, the Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture delivered an opening speech. Following this, the Director-General of the Department of Religious Affairs provided an explanation of the Letter of Agreement (LOA). Subsequently, representatives from the Department of Religious Affairs and the Russian Orthodox Church in Myanmar signed the Letter of Agreement (LOA) on Permission to Carry Out Religious Activities, as part of the ceremony's agenda.

Following the signing, His Eminence Sergiy Metropolitan of the Russian Orthodox Church for Southeast Asia and the Singapore Orthodox Church expressed words of gratitude. The event concluded with a group photo session, marking the end of the ceremony.
