Coordination meeting: Expansion of layer and local chicken farmings discussed

The Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, attended and delivered the opening speech at a coordination meeting held at the meeting hall of the Magway Region Government Office in Magway on February 17 for the expansion of layer chicken and local chicken farming, aimed at promoting the development of layer and indigenous chicken farming in Magway Region.

First, the Chief Minister U Tint Lwin stated that the Magway Region Government is working to ensure food security and prosperity within the region. In the livestock sector, efforts are being made to increase the production of meat, milk, and eggs by providing necessary support and assistance. To ensure sufficient chicken meat supply in the region, the government is supporting rural residents in small-scale and medium-scale local chicken farming and broiler farming. Additionally, to promote egg consumption, the government is assisting in the development of layer chicken farming across the region. He mentioned that the meeting was convened to discuss the progress of local chicken farming development in Magway Region and the implementation of a layer chicken farming zone in Magway Township.

Furthermore, the Regional Director of the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department and the Regional Director of the Survey Department presented plans for expanding layer and local chicken farming and allocating land for these activities. District Administrative Body Chairman and livestock entrepreneurs discussed measures to promote the development of layer and indigenous chicken farming. Chief Minister U Tint Lwin concluded the meeting by coordinating necessary actions and delivering closing remarks.
