Vendors sold fruit, traffic flowed through the streets, and people moved about their daily routines in Bukavu, a day after M23 fighters, backed by Rwandan troops, entered the city center.

Despite the presence of armed groups, the city seemed to maintain its usual activity, with shops open and public life continuing. However, remnants of looting from the weekend were still visible, with damaged storefronts, scattered goods, and evidence of disorder throughout parts of the city.
