Agriculture and Irrigation: MOALI Union Minster tours in Nay Pyi Taw

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung alongside with the Deputy Ministers and relevant officials cordially met with 100 Farmers from eight Districts in Nay Pyi Taw Council area to discuss on the development of agricultural production.

During the discussion, the Union Minister instructed to choose the crops that are suitable for their region and more profitable for farmers. He added to work in collaboration with relevant department heads and field staff to receive necessary technical assistance.

Then, the Union Minister inspected the successful crop plantations in the model farm. In the afternoon, the Union Minister proceeded to Tatkone Township and inspected the success of winter crop cultivation within the catchment area of Sin Thay Dam, water distribution for cultivating summer crops and ploughing works as well as the repair works at Kinn Thar dam.

During the inspection, the Union Minister urged officials to complete the tasks in time, meeting the set standards. He then oversaw the renovation site and distribution of irrigated water  by using solar powered water pumping system.

The Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department is carrying out the reconstruction work of Kinn Thar Dam that was damaged by Typhone Yagi in September last year, and it is targeted to complete the repair works during the 2024-2025 financial year.
