

Investigations into the illegal entry of foreign nationals into Myanmar have revealed that the majority of these individuals enter the country through neighboring countries, aiming to work illegally for their personal gain.
The State Administration Council is actively collaborating with regions and state authorities, security forces, and joint task forces to rigorously investigate and crack down on illegal online gambling, financial fraud, and other criminal activities.
On February 9, in the Mong Ha region of Mong Ral Township, Shan State (North), 21 Chinese nationals involved in illegal online gambling and financial fraud were arrested. Necessary investigations are ongoing, and legal actions will be pursued in accordance with the law. From February 5 to 9, in the same area, a total of 102 individuals were arrested for their involvement in illegal online gambling and financial fraud. Among them were 5 security personnel provided for criminals, 48 Chinese nationals (including 2 women), 18 Vietnamese women, 5 Myanmar men, and 29 Myanmar women.
Additionally, authorities seized 260 mobile phones, 25 laptops, 21 desktops, 28 keyboards, 2 Wi-Fi devices, 7 Starlink devices, 7 firearms, 72 computers, 5 fish shooting game consoles, 3 vehicles, and related equipment.
The arrested individuals are currently under investigation. Legal actions will be taken against them, while foreign nationals will be repatriated to their respective countries in accordance with the humanitarian principles and international friendship.
The State Administration Council is working closely with neighboring countries and international organizations to strictly investigate and take decisive action against those involved in illegal online gambling, financial fraud, and other criminal activities.
