Opening of military training: Training for university battalion members conducted

No. (3) University Training Battalion of the Directorate of People's Militia and Territorial Forces under the Commander-in-Chief (Army), the opening ceremony of the military training for the University Students (Mawlamyine), Unit Members, Teachers, and Students for 2024-2025 Academic Year, was held at Mawlamyine Education Degree College, on February 10.

The State Minister for Security and Border Affairs, representing the Mon State Chief Minister, gave a speech at the event. The Minister expressed great joy and honor in seeing the students, teachers, and trainees from various universities participating in the training program with enthusiasm. He encouraged the participants to gain extensive knowledge in national defense and security matters, which would be beneficial when they fulfill duties for the nation in the future. He emphasized the importance of continuous effort in shaping them into responsible and capable citizens who can contribute positively to the nation.

Following this, the Chief of Staff  of the Southeast Command, Brigadier General Htay  Lwin Oo, gave an address at the opening ceremony.

Next, the Commander of No (3) University Training Battalion, the Rector of Mawlamyine University, delivered a speech to the trainees, teachers, and students, providing advice. The Minister for Security and Border Affairs provided basic provisions for the training program, and warmly greeted the participants, assisting them with their needs for the training.

The Basic Military Training for the first and second-year students, as well as Advanced Military Training for the first and second-year students, will be conducted. It is expected that during the 2024-2025 Academic Year, a total of 133 participants will attend the Basic Military Training, including 6 teachers, 124 students, and 3 unit members of battalion.
