Chinese President meets with IOC President in Northeast China

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday met with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach in Northeast China’s Harbin host city of the upcoming 9th Asian Winter Games.Bach is in Harbin to attend the opening ceremony of the week-long 9th Asian Winter Games.

At the meeting, Xi noted that in recent years, China has successfully hosted the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Chengdu FISU World University Games, and the Hangzhou Asian Games, and the Harbin Asian Winter Games in Harbin.

The successful hosting of these sporting events is inseparable from the close cooperation between China and the IOC, he said. Bach expressed confidence that China will continue to achieve greater accomplishments, contributing increasingly to world peace, prosperity and progress.
