India-Sri Lanka strengthen ties through ITEC programme

Colombo witnessed a grand celebration of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day, organized by the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka.

The event saw the enthusiastic participation of ITEC alumni, who have benefited from the initiative over the years. Addressing the gathering, the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, emphasized the remarkable expansion of the ITEC programme since 2015, stating that over 2500 courses have been conducted, benefiting more than 225,000 participants.

Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Arun Hemachandra, praised the initiative, stating it plays a vital role in strengthening bilateral ties. The event comes at a crucial time, following Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s recent visit to India.
