Infrastructure Development: Upgrading and renovation of roads and bridges in Nay Pyi Taw

Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant together with Deputy Minister U Win Pe and officials inspected the upgrading and renovation of roads and bridges in Nay Pyi Taw Council area on February 5.

The Union Minister and party first inspected the project site at Nawin Creek Bridge (Ahsone) on Yangon-Mandalay Union Higyway and heard reports on progress of works and future plans. Upon the report, the Union Minister instructed to conduct systematic renovation process for long term sustainability, to ensure quality work in accordance with specifications, and to emphasize on work place safety.

Afterward, the Union Minister and party arrived at the Kin Tha Junction, and inspected the upgrading work on the road section damaged by erosion as well as the implementation of drainages and conduits for proper water flow.

They also inspected the work completion of renovation for Sin Tay Creek Bridge (Thaik Chaung), extension of Yangon-Mandalay Union Highway from the previous four-lane to six-lane facility, planting of trees along the road side and measures for proper flow of water. In the afternoon, the Union Minister and party inspected the repair process of Paung Laung Bridge on Montekhwin-Kyitaung-Kawma-Naungpintha road, and gave instruction for ensuring durability of the bridge.
