Refresher training course: MoE Union Minister officially opened the training

The opening ceremony of the 2025 Physical Education and Sports Coach Refresher Training Course No. (2) organized by the Department of Basic Education under the Ministry of Education took place at the Sports Training Camp in Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw on February 5. The Union Minister for Education, Dr. Nyunt Pe attended and gave the opening speech.

In his speech, the Union Minister stated that this course is being opened in line with the guidance of the Head of State. He also mentioned that the trainers who completed the first session of the course, which was opened in 2024, had successfully taken on roles as coaches, referees, and organizers at the sports competitions across the country. 

He emphasized the course’s success in preparing trainers who later took on key roles in various regional and national sports events. 

He expressed his deep gratitude to the relevant Ministries and departments for their invaluable support in making the training possible. The Minister then officially opened the 2025 Physical Education and Sports Coach Refresher Training Course No. (2).

The training course will be attended by 310 trainees and 40 trainers from various Regions and States. 

A total of 350 participants will be trained to teach seven different sports including football, volleyball, track and field, basketball, Sepak Takraw, table tennis, and badminton in basic education schools across the country. The course will run from February 1 to 15, at the Lewe Sports Training Camp.
