Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh arrive in Nepal on six-day visit

Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh met with Nepal’s President Ram Chandra Paudel on Tuesday at the President’ official residence in Nepal. During the meeting, President Paudel emphasized that climate change is a global concern and called for collective action to address it.

Edward expressed interest in understanding the impact of climate change on the Himalayas. He also noted that the British Gurkhas have been a cornerstone of Nepal-UK relations and suggested that future cooperation could focus on youth and women’s empowerment. During their stay in Nepal, the Prince and his wife will visit the National Botanical Garden in Godawari, the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development, and Pokhara, among other locations.
