Inspection of Agricultural Activities: Bago Region CM inspected agriculture and livestock

Bago Region Government Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, along with the officials, inspected agriculture, livestock and flood protection activities in Bago Township on February 5.

First, the Chief Minister visited the 20 acres of summer paddy fields in the highlands near Thayet Kone Village, Phayar Gyi Town, Bago Township, where a water wheel was installed in the canal (2) and the water supply system was successfully developed.

He met with the local people and instructed them to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. After that, the Chief Minister of the Region inspected the successful cultivation of 1,100 acres of mung beans in a single field, met with local farmers and coordinated with the officials to expand the breeding of local chickens and pigs in a cage system and to plant fruit trees along the production route that provide shade and food.

Then, the Chief Minister inspected the breeding of 3,200 khaki-Campbell layer ducks by U Win Htaik Aung, a livestock entrepreneur in Mayin Village, Bago Township. He made arrangements to sell the eggs at the direct sales outlets of the farmers that are open daily under the Region Government's plan to increase the local egg consumption and enable consumers to purchase them at affordable prices.

He also coordinated with officials to expand the breeding of layer ducks and meat ducks. After that, the Chief Minister and officials inspected the strengthening of the earth embankment and concrete road paving in the Bago River embankment Pan Hlaing, Ponna Su, and Mondaing embankment above the High Flood Level, with the approved funds of 1417 million Kyats from the Region Government for flood protection.

They gave priority to the construction of retaining walls and dam walls using old tire rims in areas where water could enter, and instructed those responsible to strictly monitor the prevention of encroachment in the Bago River embankment area and supervise the timely completion in accordance with the established standards. They also inspected the embankment in vehicles.
