New Landmark in Taunggyi: Public recreation area opened at Ganaing Lake

In commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of Shan State Day, Ganaing Lake public recreation spot was opened in Taunggyi on 5th February.

After making presentation on construction processes by the official from the Township Development Committee, Chief Minister U Aung Aung along with the Chief Justice of the State High Court and officials opened the facility by cutting ceremonial ribbons.

Following this, the Chief Minister unveiled the entrance signboard of the lake and presented certificate of honour to the well-wisher who made contribution for construction of concrete road around the lake. Likewise, departmental officials and staff from Township Development Committee were presented with the certificate of honour for their efforts for successful completion of working processes along with the provision of cash award to the performance troupes.

Next, the Chief Minister and party took a tour around the Ganaing Lake. The lake, which had been ignored and covered with bushes, was renovated and upgraded into one of the public recreation areas in Taunggyi under the guidance of the Chief Minister, with the collaborative efforts of well-wishers, departmental officials, and staff. It will now become as a landmark of the city, providing facilities for recreation and relation to the public.
