Sports competition in Monywa: Sagain Region CM attended opening ceremony

The opening ceremony of the sports competition held in commemoration of the 78th Union Day by the Monywa Education Degree College took place on February 4. The Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, attended the event.

The Chief Minister, U Myat Kyaw, Region Minister for Social Affairs, U Nyunt Win Aung, and the Principal of the Monywa Education Degree College, cut the ribbon to officially open the sports competitions in welcoming the 78th Union Day.

Following this, the Chief Minister of the Region, U Myat Kyaw delivered an opening speech.  

After that, the athletes of the competing teams recited the sportsmanship pledge, and the Chief Minister and officials greeted the teams warmly. Students of Monywa Education Degree College performed a fitness dance to entertain the guests.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister and officials observed and supported the competitions, including the Men’s and Women’s 100-meter and 200-meter sprints and the Men’s and Women’s tug-of-war events.

After that, a prize-presenting ceremony was held where the Chief Minister, Region Government Ministers, the Rector of Monywa University, departmental officials, and the Principal of Monywa Education Degree College honored the first, second, and third-place winners of the various sports events with cash prizes and certificates. Additionally, the Minister of Social Affairs of the Region presented a cash prize of 1 million kyats to the Principal of the Monywa Education Degree College in recognition of their contributions.
