The coordination meeting of the Union Government was held at the meeting hall of the State Administration Council (SAC) Chairman’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on Fabrary 3.

SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting was also attended by SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win, Union Ministers, Union-level officials, and responsible personnel.

The Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, as well as Region and State Chief Ministers, participated via video conferencing.

In his opening remarks, the SAC Chairman stated that the meeting was convened to ensure the continued momentum of national development tasks under the reorganized Union Government and the Region and State Chief Ministers.

He emphasized that the SAC has set clear objectives and forward-looking plans to successfully address issues related to peace and stability, economic development, and social and health sectors. These are the fundamental policies of a government striving for national progress. He highlighted the need for the Union Government to provide leadership and guidance, while Region and State Governments must effectively implement and supervise these tasks.

He noted that the country’s GDP growth depends on three major sectors: agriculture, industry, and services. Myanmar currently has a lower GDP compared to other ASEAN and regional countries, and even its agricultural productivity lags behind others.

Therefore, increasing agricultural production and promoting research and development in agriculture, livestock, and MSME products are essential for boosting the nation’s GDP. He urged the establishment of model villages, towns, and districts in each Region and State to enhance agricultural and MSME production.

Additionally, he stressed the importance of advancing the education, sports, and health sectors. The Prime Minister also addressed the challenges posed by illegal online gambling and financial fraud (commonly referred to as "Kyar Phyant"), which have caused difficulties in the country.

He mentioned that effective measures have been taken to address these issues, and the international attention has been drawn to them. The government is actively collaborating with international partners to combat these crimes. Regarding elections, he reiterated that holding a free and fair multi-party democratic general election is an ultimate goal. The government is committed to ensuring broad representation of ethnic groups and various social strata in the future parliaments.

He advised Region and State Chief Ministers and officials to thoroughly study election-related laws and urged political parties to prepare accordingly. To ensure transparency and fairness in the elections, measures are being taken to prevent electoral fraud, simplify the voting process for voters, ensure accurate vote counting, eliminate invalid votes, and promote openness.

The use of the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) is being planned to achieve these objectives. Following the Prime Minister’s speech, the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, Region and State Chief Ministers presented their sector-specific discussions. The meeting was then concluded.
