Bangladesh hosts world’s second-largest Muslim gathering

The global congregation, which is considered the world’s second-largest Muslim gathering after hajj, started on Friday in Tongi on the outskirts of Bangladesh capital Dhaka.

An estimated five million devotees around 150 countries across the globe are expected to attend the congregations this year. Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner to Pakistan said “Missions in Pakistan have already issued necessary visas to the devotees”. This year the congregation is going to take place in two phases: first one from February 2 to 4 and the second from February 9 to 12.
