Opening of language training: MoHT UM gave an opening speech

To provide good services to Russian tourists visiting Myanmar, a Russian Language (Basic) course opening ceremony was held on Monday at the Grand Amara Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

The Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism, Dr. Thet Thet Khine, attended the ceremony and gave a speech. In her opening speech, the Union Minister stated that the Ministry aims to develop human resources in hotel and tourism sectors across the country.

To achieve this, the Ministry continuously offers a variety of training courses, including hospitality and tourism guide, culinary arts, tourism business, and language courses. The Union Minister emphasized that, as Russia is one of the key tourist markets for Myanmar, Russian language diploma and basic courses, as well as refresher courses, are being provided in Nay Pyi Taw and across the relevant regions and states to ensure that Russian tourists are served in their native language.

Furthermore, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council U Than Tun Oo, explained the status of the “Welcome Russia Program in Myanmar,” which focuses on promoting the Russian tourist market. He provided details about the arrivals of foreign and Russian tourists to Nay Pyi Taw, the development of tourist regions, and the implementation of related plans.

He encouraged participants to learn and practice the Russian language to provide excellent service to Russian visitors. After that, the Union Minister, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, and the Deputy Minister took group photographs with the attendees and visited the ongoing training sessions. The Russian Language (Basic) course will be offered over four weeks to hotel and guesthouse employees in Nay Pyi Taw region.
