Modi and Prabowo agree to step up bilateral cooperation

On Saturday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto have agreed to step up cooperation in a range of fields, including defense, health and digital tech. Prabowo was making his first state visit to India since taking office last year.

A joint statement says the leaders reaffirmed that their countries must continue to strengthen defense cooperation as maritime neighbors and strategic partners. Modi said, "In order to enhance their cooperation in the area of defense, they have decided to work together in defense manufacturing and supply chains." Prabowo said, “they are convinced that this cooperation will be beneficial to global stability and the regional cooperation."
