Providing food supplies: Sports coaches provided by Kachin State Government

The ceremony of providing rice and basic food supplies by the Kachin State Government to the coaches who helped the athletes representing the Kachin State achieve victory according to the sports in the sports competitions including 2024 Fifth National Sports Festival, Regions and States level sports competitions was held at the meeting hall of the State Sports and Physical Education Department office on January 27.

At the ceremony, the Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, mentioned that while there are many factors for improving the standard of sports, developing good athletes, and achieving success in competitions, the coaches who provided guidance have played a leading role. He stated that the state government is acknowledging the efforts of these coaches from various sports committees to support them in every way possible. Furthermore, he emphasized that the continued training and participation in competitions of youth athletes within the state would further improve the state's sports standards and foster many talented young people who could become assets to both the nation and the state.

Subsequently, the food supplies were presented, with the Chief Minister, Chief Justice of the State High Court, and State Ministers for Security and Border Affairs and Social Affairs honoring the coaches from the 21 sports committees within the state. They were provided rice, cooking oil, eggs, and tomatoes, while three female athletes selected for the Myanmar National Team were presented with cash prize.

Kachin State achieved significant success in the 2024 region and state sports competitions, winning 12 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 12 bronze medals. They ranked 3rd overall at the region and state level. Additionally, at the Fifth National Sports Festival held in December 2024, Kachin State earned 16 gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 21 bronze medals, securing 5th place nationwide.
