






A meeting between National Solidarity and Peace-Making Negotiation Committee and Political Parties Working Group took place in Nay Pyi Taw on January 23rd. Committee Chairman Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung attended the meeting along with the committee members, Leader of political parties working groups and representatives.
During the meeting, the Committee Chairman discussed matters on negotiation with political parties upon the provisions of the 2008 Constitution that are considered to be amended, implementations on the suggestions of political parties for holding the elections and restoring peace and stability based on Nationwide Ceasedfire Agreement, the current development in the country and measures for holding free and fair multi party democracy general election.
The meeting discussed the current political condition, crucial role of political parties and further cooperation between the committee and political parties as well as the opinions on the amendment of 2008 Constitution. The second session of the meeting is scheduled to be held on 24th January.
