South Korea's impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol appeared at the Constitutional Court for the first time Tuesday, facing a possible grilling by judges who will decide whether to remove him from office.
The court is set to decide whether to uphold Yoon's impeachment after the National Assembly passed a motion on it in December. Yoon was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of orchestrating an insurrection. A joint team of investigators on Monday dispatched personnel to bring Yoon to their office for questioning but gave up after he refused.
Yoon stayed away from the first two hearings last week, but the trial, which could last months, will continue even if he is absent.
