Inspection of land developing: MoALI UM inspected land development project

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Min Naung attended the first coordination meeting for the expansion of Agricultural and Livestock Universities, was held at the meeting hall of the Centenary in Nay Pyi Taw on January 20.

During the meeting, the Union Minister explained that although the country has been producing agricultural and livestock experts annually at the Yezin Agricultural University and the University of Veterinary Science in Nay Pyi Taw, there are still existing needs.

Therefore, the government is making efforts to open new Agricultural and Livestock Universities in both the upper and lower regions of Myanmar. He emphasized that the points discussed at the regular coordination meeting held on January 17, should be thoroughly reviewed and discussed at this meeting, and since preparations for it were already made in advance, it is expected to go smoothly.

He also mentioned that the discussions would be further presented to the relevant parties and accept as the principle.After that, participants presented their suggestions and the Union Minister and Deputy Ministers provided additional input, and the coordination meeting was concluded.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister, Deputy Ministers, and officials inspected the project of developing 260.70 acres of land for a mechanized farming systemin Zayathiri Township. Additionally, the village administrators of the participating farmers and the relevant officials from Nay Pyi Taw’s agricultural sector were met to discuss preparations for the upcoming farming season.

This included soil treatment, seed collection, and the preparations needed for sowing summer paddy. The Union Minister assured that the necessary arrangements would be coordinated with the relevant business entrepreneurs regarding with the fertilizer requirements presented by the farmers.
