Japan staying in close contact with S.Korean govt.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi Yoshimasa spoke with reporters on Wednesday morning, his government will continue to communicate closely with the South Korean government.

The remark came after South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol’s detention. He said that he would refrain from commenting on the domestic politics of a foreign country.

But he noted that the Japanese government is following the political developments in South Korea with particular and serious interest. He described South Korea as an important neighbor and said that Tokyo wants to work together with Seoul to respond to various global issues.
