Urban Development Process: Discussion on future urban projects in Nay Pyi Taw

On 15th January, a meeting to review 2024 Nay Pyi Taw Urban Development Process and to discuss proposed future urban projects was held at the Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee meeting hall with the attendance of Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, Mayor U Than Tun Oo. In his speech, the Mayor stressed the necessary measures in shaping Nay Pyi Taw as a Green City, Clean City and Smart City in line with the set standards.

As the capital and 3rd most populated city of Myanmar, Nay Pyi Taw is formed systematically as a model city of Myanmar in accordance with the master plans diving into 4 sectors; political, economic, social and environment.

Aiming for the long-term sustainability and development of Nay Pyi Taw, the urban development master plan needs to be reviewed and upgraded keeping abreast of changes, he added. The Mayor also elaborated to emphasize on weak and strong points of current development process in amending master plan. Then, the officials made discussins on necessary infrastructure for the projects. The meeting was concluded after supplementing the discussions.
