The Japanese government is arranging to offer aid worth 2 million dollars to the United States, in response to the raging wildfires in the Los Angeles area.

The government is making arrangements to provide the assistance through the American Red Cross.

Officials hope the funds can be used to provide safe shelter, food, psychological care and other support that meet local needs. Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru recently wrote on X that he is "deeply saddened by the devastating wildfires in California. And he added, "Japan stands in solidarity with the people of the United States during this difficult time."
