Erecting shaft of pagoda umbrella: Shan State CM and Commander attended the ceremony

The ceremony of erecting the shaft to hold the umbrella of Shwe Bhone Pwint pagoda was held at the community hall of the pagoda in Taunggyi in the morning on January 15.

The shaft to hold the umbrella of Shwe Bhone Pwint pagoda accompanied by the ethnic people holding the Sasana flags was conveyed to the community hall from the temple of Yet Kan Sin Sayadawgyi.

Next, the congregation led by the Shan State Chief Minister observed five precepts administered by SunlunguKamahtan monastery, offered the Paritta water, flower, sand, thread and gravels to the Sangha, took the Paritta Suttas recited by the Sangah and the Paritta water, flower, sand and gravels scattered at the precinct of the pagoda from the direction of East.

Then, Chief Minister U Aung Aung, Commander of East Command Ma-J Gen. Zaw Min Latt, State Ministers and well-wishers offered the shaft to hold the umbrella of the pagoda and offertories to the Sangha.

After that, Chief Minister donated 30 million Kyats of capital fund for the gilding full circumference of the pagoda, took the sermon delivered by the presiding Sayadaw of Thein Taung monastery.

Later, the Sasana flags holders, ethnic people, holders of the shaft to hold the umbrella of the pagoda, Chief Minister, Commander, State Ministers and well-wishers circled the pagoda in clock-wise direction, Chief Minister, Commander, State Ministers and well-wishers erected the shaft to hold the umbrella of the pagoda, sprinkled with scented water and erected white umbrella atop the shaft, it’s reported.
