




Under the guidance of the National Disaster Management Committee, the government of Rakhine State, in collaboration with the government of Yangon Region, the rice and essential food supplies to Rakhine State has been transporting by boat. On the morning of January 14, the Rakhine State Chief Minister, U Htein Lin, along with government officials and departmental heads, inspected the arrival of rice and basic food supplies brought by the M.V. Tawwin Thiri and M.V. Aung Yatana Win vessels at the multi-purpose port in Sittwe.
The M.V. Tawwin Thiri vessel carried a total of 400 tons of rice and consumer goods, while the M.V. Aung Yatana Win vessel brought 600 tons of rice and essential food supplies.
The Rakhine State Chief Minister and officials inspected the unloading of goods from the vessels and coordinated efforts to ensure the goods were properly handled, quickly distributed in the market, and protected from damage or loss during the process. They also emphasized the importance of safety in managing the goods.
Following this, the Chief Minister and party visited the Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank, Rakhine State Branch, and the Rakhine State Religious Affairs office. They met with the staff and observed their work, offering encouragement and support.
At Rakhine State Branch of Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank, the manager, U Min Sein, explained the office's operations, including the issuance of agricultural loans for farming expenses and the collection of loan repayments. Government officials participated in discussions, offering suggestions and providing additional guidance on the bank’s operations.
The Chief Minister and team then visited the office of the Religious Affairs Department, where they met with staff and discussed the government’s support for personnel, such as providing rice and food supplies, offering free health care to retired government servants, and distributing supplies. The importance of ensuring the security of staff and office facilities, as well as maintaining the security of documents, was also emphasized.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister and team inspected the efforts made to maintain cleanliness, order, and the beauty of the offices, as part of their ongoing support for the operations.
