Training for Boiler Operators: Union Minister for Industry delivered an opening speech

The opening ceremony of "Training for Boiler Operators" (Course No. 1/2025) was held at the Boiler Training Hall of the Industrial Supervision and Inspection Department in Bahan Township, Yangon Region on January 13.

The Union Minister for Industry, Dr. Charlie Than, attended the event virtually from the Meeting Room of the Ministry of Industry, Office No. 30 in Nay Pyi Taw.In his opening speech, the Union Minister emphasized that this training is intended to protect people from the loss of lives and property due to boiler accidents, to ensure boilers can be used efficiently and safely for a long period of time, and to promote systematic maintenance and operation.

He also stressed the importance of following the boiler laws and operational procedures prescribed by the state when dealing with boiler-related matters. He urged the trainees to carefully note the basic information provided, prepare for compliance, and strive to share knowledge and skills related to boilers.

Furthermore, he encouraged the trainees to combine their previous knowledge with the lessons taught in this course for practical application.The training for Boiler Operators (Course No. 1/2025) will be conducted from January 13to February 21, lasting six weeks. A total of 60 trainees, both from within the department and external participants, will attend the course.

Topics covered will include the Boiler Act and related operational procedures, different types of boilers and common uses, how to operate and maintain boiler equipment, causes of boiler failure and maintenance methods, steps to take in case of boiler accidents, explosion prevention measures, safety valves, boiler water treatment, the benefits and risks of various fuels, preventing and managing fuel-related accidents, automatic control systems for boilers, and preparation for boiler inspections. Experienced instructors will conduct both theoretical and practical training for the trainees, it’s learnt.
