The Eastern Indian state of Assam is currently celebrating ‘Magh Bihu’, also known as ‘Bhogali Bihu’, marking the end of the harvest season. The festival, celebrated with great enthusiasm, brings communities together in a spirit of gratitude and tradition.

Known for its vibrant celebrations, ‘Magh Bihu’ features traditional feasts and the lighting of a ceremonial bonfire called ‘Meji’, a tribute to the God of Fire. Rooted in Tibeto-Burman cultural traditions, the festival highlights community bonding and rituals, making it one of Assam’s most significant and widely celebrated events.
