





Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, along with Tanintharyi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko and relevant officials, made field inspection on the rural development activities in Kawtthaung Township Taninthayi Region, on January 13.
First, the Union Minister, Chief Minister and party, visited the Dhammikarama Tatu-U Monastery in Kawtthaung Township, paid homage to the presiding Sayadaw and offerted the offertories. Next, they proceeded to the Salon Home for the Aged, where they met with Salon seniors and villagers.
The officials presented the current situation regarding rural development projects in the area. The Union Minister emphasized that since the local people are mainly engaged in water-related activities for their livelihood, further expansion of such activities would require necessary tools and investment from the Ministry. He also mentioned that vocational trainings, including for sewing machinperating, would be provided to support the production of consumer goods and food products.
After discussions and addressing the needs of the local community, the Union Minister and party visited exhibitions of Salon traditions. Subsequently, the Union Minister and party visited the Zardet Kyi Village in KawtthaungTownship, where they reviewed the ongoing water pipeline installation project, which connects the village to the water reservoir located four miles away.
They inspected the completed works related to the reservoir and pipeline system, as well as the Zardet Kyi Village water bridge.Then, the Union Minister, together with the Chief Minister and party, visited the District Rural Development Office in Kawtthaungwhere they met with district and township level officials and staff from the Ministry’s departments.
During the meeting, the Union Minister emphasized the need to ensure that all projects for the current fiscal year meet the established standards and are completed on time. He urged all staff to carry out their duties with dedication. After discussions with the relevant officials about improving the working conditions for staff, the Union Minister addressed the requiremnts reported by the staff and coordinated with the relevant officials.
