









Winners of the Inter-basic Education School Drum and Bugle Corps Competition for the 2024-2025 academic year were awarded at a ceremony, held at the Thuwunna National Indoor Stadium 1 in Yangon Region on Sunday.
Students representing 20 basic education schools in basic education schools in Yangon Region took part in the two-day event featuring a season of exciting performances.
Grade-11 Student, No.2 Basic Education High School, Sanchaung, Thun Su Hay Thi said "Our team consists of 63 members, and I will serve as the Drum Major of the Band Troupe. Our school has been participating in this competition for a long time and has won many prizes, including first place."
The Practicing High School (Kamayut) won first prize while the second and third places went to the No.1 Basic Education High School, Latha and No.2 Basic Education High School, Hlaingthaya (West).
Principal, Practicing High School (Kamayut), Dr Thwe Thwe Oo said "We joined this competition last year and won first place in both the team event and the drum major category. This year, we have also won these achievements. I really appreciate this. We have been training our students since June, and it is a great pleasure to see their deserving win."
Principal, No.1 B.E.H.S, Latha, Khin Maung Win said "Our school won second place in team event and also for the drum major. This year saw increased numbers of participating teams, and we really appreciate for this achievement."
Principal, No.2 B.E.H.S, Hlaingthaya, Myint Aung Tun said "We won third place in the team event and consolation prize in drum major event. I am really satisfied with the achievements that have resulted from our efforts."
Organized by the Yangon Region Government, the annual Inter-basic Education School Drum and Bugle Corps Competition aims to enhance students' skills, promote sportsmanship, improve health and fitness and foster teamwork through cooperation.
