Heavy Snow along the Sea of Japan

Heavy snow along the Sea of Japan continues to be disruptive. More than double the usual amount has accumulated in some regions. Aga Town, Niigata Prefecture, in Japan had 81 centimeters of snow.

That’s nearly double the usual accumulation for the region. Residents were seen removing snow from the roads early this morning. Snow-clearing operations are lagging behind in some parts of Aomori Prefecture. Ahead of the start of new semesters at many elementary and junior high schools, the governor inspected snow-removal operations around the prefecture.
