Central Committee Meeting: CCNTD held its meeting (1/2025) in Nay Pyi Taw

The Central Committee on National Tourism Development held its meeting (1/2025) at the Jade Hall of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism in Nay Pyi Taw on January 8.

The meeting was attended by the Central Committee Chairman, SAC member Deputy Prime Minister, Union Minister for Transport and Communications, General Mya Tun Oo, who delivered the opening remarks. In his speech, the Committee Chairman emphasized the need to assess the implementation of the discussions and decisions from the previous Central Committee meeting (1/2024).

He also highlighted the importance of improving international tourist arrivals during peak tourist months and the need for efficient execution of necessary tasks by the Ministry, as well as by region and state governments.

Following this, the Vice Chairperson of the Central Committee, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism, Dr. Thet Thet Khine clarified the implementation status of the decisions made in previous meetings and discussed the current state of country's tourism sector and future strategies for its development.

Then, the Secretary of the Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Hotels and Tourism U Phyo Zaw Soe provided updates on the implementation of the decisions from the (1/2024) meeting, reviewed ongoing activities, presented letters of order submitted to the Central Committee and sought the approval.

Subsequently, members of the Central Committee Union Ministers, Regions and States Chief Ministers, Deputy Ministers, advisor for the Central Committee, Nay Pyi Taw Council member, and relevant stakeholders, engaged in discussions about the development of the tourism industry.

The Chairman provided additional guidance and coordinated necessary actions to address the issues raised during these deliberations. After that, the Chairman of Central Committee delivered the closing remarks marking the conclusion of the meeting.
