




The Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi visited a pig breeding farm with cooling system run by SUNJIN Myanmar Co., Ltd., located in the NyaungHna Pin breeding zone (3) in HleguTownship, Yangon Region on January 7.
The breeding farm had 1,200 female pigs and 20 male pigs, with over 30,000 piglets produced annually and distributed in commercial standard. Similarly, Deputy Minister also inspected the egg-laying chicken breeding farm of U Li Hike Chain, which consists of 8 chicken houses with a total of 100,000 laying hens.
The farm utilizes an evaporative cooling system for poultry farming, producing over 29 million eggs annually. During the visit, he discussed the necessary measures for preventing animal-borne diseases, ensuring hygiene for workers, and maintaining sanitation standards on the farm.
The Deputy Minister then proceeded to the management office of the NyaungHna Pin Agricultural and Livestock Breeding Zone, where he met with breeders. He discussed the potential for developing farming activities in the region, highlighting Yangon Region as a promising area for agricultural development. He emphasized the need to expand livestock farming, including dairy cattle, pig, egg-laying chicken, and meat chicken production, in line with the Good Animal Husbandry Practices(GAHP).
He also addressed how private farmers and breeders can collaborate to meet the needs of the sector and discussed the importance of cooperation among all stakeholders in the industry.Subsequently, the Deputy Minister visited the poultry breeding farm of Feed MAS Livestock Co., Ltd., located in HmawbiTownship, Nyaung Gone village.
This farm uses an evaporative cooling system to breed over 86,000 LOHMANN BROWNY laying hens and produces 12.6 million eggs annually, which are distributed to Yangon Region and local markets. He reviewed the operations and discussed with officials how to ensure eggs are distributed at appropriate prices for consumers.
