Committee Meeting: Efforts for early childhood care and development

National Level Committee for Early Childhood Care and Development held its meeting at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement on Wednesday. Committee Chairman Union Minister DrSoe Win attended the meeting and made a speech, stressing the need to make increased collaboration among the concerned departments and organizations in implementing the Policy for Early Childhood Care and Development.

The meeting discussed the work undertakings on the early childhood care and development works. During 2024-2025 fiscal year, there are over 35% of infants between six months to eight years old.

Among them, over 22% are between three to five years and the remaining over 83% are between six to eight years old. Based on these statistics, plans have been made to establish a Pre-School in every township, and is now waiting for the approval of financial procedures by the Union Government.
